Armenian president hosts kids to celebrate Knowledge Day
The Armenian Presidential Palace hosted today little guests from different educational institutions to celebrate 1 September marking the Knowledge and Science Day, as well as the commence of the new academic year.
There were also school students with special needs, orphanage children, as well as Syrian-Armenians among the guests, the presidential office told Panorama.am.
Entertainment and educational events were organized for children in the open-air area of the presidential residence. The special pavilions held interesting exhibits featuring the subjects of physics and chemistry. The children also had a chance to play chess, paint and make clay figures.
President Armen Sarkissian met the kids, talked to them and toured the pavilions with them. Speaking to reporters, President Sarkissian said that instead of visiting one of the schools he preferred to host children at the Presidential Palace. “We plan to make this small but beautiful park open for public during weekends,” he said.
He also stressed the need to make schools attractive for children to attend them with love and pleasure. “When you study with pleasure, you learn quickly, thoroughly and keep in mind forever,” he said.
