Armenian PM comments on Putin’s birthday greetings to Kocharyan
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan sees no political motive behind Russian President Vladimir Putin's birthday congratulations to Armenian ex-President Robert Kocharyan, he told reporters on Tuesday.
“It is a matter of personal relationship. Getting to know the Russian president, I can say he values and maintains personal ties with the present and former leaders of different countries,” he said.
“You have seen that despite rather complicated relations with the EU he participated in the wedding ceremony of the top Austrian official. It means he attaches special importance to human relations, which is very good,” Pashinyan stressed.
Putin congratulated Kocharyan on his birthday anniversary on August 31 in a telephone conversation.
