World-famous cellist Narek Hakhnazaryan to hold open-air recital in Moscow
World-renowned Armenian cellist Narek Hakhnazaryan will perform an open-air rectal in the Apothecary Garden of the Moscow State University on Friday, 7 September.
The program of the concert titled “Seasons of the Year” features Tchaikovsky, Paganini, E. Baghdasaryan, A. Harutyunyan, J. Massenet and others, ponominalu.ru reports.
“I'm so excited to return to Moscow with open-air recital! I am looking forward to my performance with Gayane Hakhnazaryan…The program will be very interesting and will include all my favorite pieces written for cello and not only,” the cellist said in a post on Facebook on Monday.
Hakhnazaryan, 29, is recognised worldwide as one of the finest cellists of his generation. Since winning the Cello First Prize and Gold Medal at the XIV International Tchaikovsky Competition in 2011 at the age of 22, he has forged strong relationships across the globe with orchestras such as the Mariinsky Orchestra, Seoul Philharmonic, Filarmonica de la Scala and the London Philharmonic. Hakhnazaryan was selected to the prestigious 2014 BBC New Generation Artists Scheme, and his performances are broadcast regularly on BBC Radio 3.
