Date for Putin-Pashinyan meeting revealed
The meeting between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Russian President Vladimir Putin will take place in Moscow on Sunday, 8 September, Russian presidential spokesperson Dmitry Peskov confirmed the news to Izvestia.
The upcoming visit will be the third one since Pashinyan was elected Prime Minister in May.
His visit follows the Sochi talks between Putin and his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev, which addressed, among other things, the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Earlier on Monday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov confirmed the pending meeting between the Armenian and Russian leaders, addressing students and lecturers at Moscow State Institute of International Relations.
Putin and Pashinyan first met at the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) summit in Sochi on May 14. They held their second meeting on June 13 when the Armenian PM attended the opening of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Moscow.
