The House-Museum of the great Armenian writer William Saroyan
On August 31st, 2018, the 110th anniversary of William Saroyan, the house-museum of the great writer was opened in Fresno, USA. “Renaissance” cultural and intellectual foundation started the initiative in 2016
As the Foundation reported in a release, it acquired William Saroyan’s house, located in 2729 Griffith Way, Fesno, California, aiming to turn it into house museum. The foundation next collected books, furniture items, paintings and souvenirs, as well as some personal items, related to William Saroyan.
The space of the museum includes video and digital effects that depict a hologram of William Saroyan sitting and talking with his guests. In accordance with William Saroyan’s will, a research area will be created within the house, which will serve as a center for Saroyan studies.
It would give opportunity to students, scholars and other interested individuals to benefit from the vast heritage which William Saroyan left.
It is noted that after the completion of the work, the house-museum will become a center of Saroyan studies. Guests of the House-Museum will be offered special guide visits, as well as will have a study room.
From August 31 new apps named William Saroyan are available on Ap Store on the occasion of the opening of the house-museum.
The app that was created as a result of cooperation with ARLOOP allowes the visitors to see Saroyan in 3D animation and take photos with him It contains also a separate section of the unique photos of the writer taken from the digital archive. There is also a news and home-museum donation section.
