Criminal charges brought against former PM Hovik Abrahamyan
Special Investigative Service (SIS) of Armenia has brought criminal charges against Hovik Abrahamyan, who has been Armenia’s Prime Minister, serving in the office from April 2014 to September 2016.
As spokeswoman at the SIS Marina Ohanjanyan told Panorama.am the criminal cases are initiated according to the Point 1 of the Article 309 (Exceeding official authorities) and Article 310 (Illegal participation in entrepreneurial activity) of Armenia’s Criminal Code.
Hovik Abrahamyan earlier took to Facebook calling the criminal cases initiated against him as ‘fabricated’.
“I was first interrogated in SIS as a witness in the scope a fabricated criminal case, then unfounded charges were brought with a signature bond to not leave the country,” Abrahamyan wrote.
