PM at Francophone forum: Recent developments in Armenia highlighted importance of civil society
The 11th forum of Francophone NGOs kicked off in the Armenian capital of Yerevan on Wednesday in participation of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, who delivered opening remarks at the event in French.
Welcoming representatives of the NGOs, the PM noted that the active engagement of the youth, women and men in the latest developments in Armenia highlighted the importance of civil society, the values behind democracy and solidarity, which Armenia pursues.
According to Pashinyan, his government, as well as the whole Armenia has mobilized its powers to host participants of the 17th Summit of the International Organization of La Francophonie slated for October 11-12 at the highest level.
“I am hopeful this summit will promote the development of La Francophonie worldwide, and Armenia will become La Francophonie’s diplomatic center,” he said.
The summit will also enable representatives of the Francophone countries to discover Armenia and its cultural values, the PM added.
