Pashinyan-Macron meeting agreed upon still in Brussels – spox
The upcoming visit of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to France was scheduled still at the Brussels meeting between the PM and French President Emmanuel Macron in July, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Tigran Balayan told a press briefing on Wednesday.
The official stated that the agenda of Pashinyan’s visit to France slated for 14-15 September is quite broad, featuring meetings with the French president, as well as the local Armenian community.
Balayan stressed that Macron is also going to pay a state visit to Armenia in October, a fact that symbolizes the high level of relations between the two counties.
“We have special relations with France. We have political, economic, cultural and social cooperation [with France]. All these issues will be on the agenda,” he said.
The spokesman also highlighted the role of the French Armenian community in the development of bilateral relations.
He pointed out to around 40 cooperation agreements reached between the Armenian and French self-governments, with numerous economic and social programs implemented in Armenia with the support of France.
