Armenia’s SRC reacts to Panorama.am report over CCM breaches in petrol station
The State Revenue Committee (SRC) of Armenia has issued comments on a Panorama.am report published on 13 September calling attention to the failure of a petrol station in a Yerevan district to provide Cash Control Machine (CCM) coupons to citizens.
“The tax body on 6 September revealed violations of Cash Control Machine operations in the petrol station located near Yerevan City supermarket in Avan district after carrying out inspections there upon a citizen’s report, and imposed a fine of 300,000 drams in a manner prescribed by law,” it said in the reply.
The committee detailed that the petrol station was fined on 29 June 2018 as well for the same beaches.
The petrol station, however, failed to eliminate the shortcomings and continued its operations by violating Armenia’s Tax Code, the committee says.
Meantime, the SRC stressed its tax body is committed to identifying tax offenses in all the spheres, adding it has carried out large-scale operations in the compressed natural gas sphere since May this year to reveal violations by 110 taxpayers and impose respective sanctions.
“As for the phrasing ‘the SRC does not want to check’, we assure that the tax body is not restricted to carry out actions regarding any risky taxpayer and rules out the possibility of ignoring alerts about possible tax offenses,” the committee concluded.
