Aronian’s wife to solo cycle through Turkey and Iran to Armenia to support Armenian children
Armenian chess grandmaster Levon Aronian’s wife Arianne Caoili will solo cycle through Turkey and Iran to Armenia to raise funds for the local charity organization.
“Excited to announce a huge challenge I am starting this Friday – Armenian Independence Day! - to solo cycle about 1800kms right through Turkey and Iran to Armenia, to raise funds for the Children of Armenia Fund to give Armenian kids in rural communities access to quality health and physical education!” Arianne wrote on her Facebook.
Arianne will start her journey from the medieval Armenian port city of Ayas in Cilicia (Mersin province, Turkey0 on September 21 and will finish the trek in the town of Agarak located on the Armenian-Iranian border.
Arianne also call n users to follow the daily video and photo updates of the cycle and make donations.
The biking tour's fundraising goal of $5,500 USD will allow COAF to expand its athletic programs for youth living in six villages of Armenia's Tavush region. Funds will go toward establishing clubs and much-needed sporting equipment and salaries for coaches.
