Young Armenian wrestler grabs gold at World C'ships
Armenian Greco-Roman wrestler Malkhas Amoyan (67kg) has won gold at the 2018 Junior World Championships taking place in Trnava, Slovakia from 17 to 23 September.
The athlete took the gold medal after defeating Uzbekistan’s Makhmud Bakhshilloev 10-0 in the Greco-Roman finals on Wednesday evening.
Earlier, two other young Armenian wrestlers Tigran Minasyan (55 kg) and David Ovasapyan (130 kg) conquered silver medals at the championship.
The freestyle wrestlers will start their performances on Friday, 21 September. The Armenian freestyle wrestling team participating in the tournament features Arsen Harutyunyan (57kg), Vazgen Tevanyan (61kg), Gegham Galstyan (65kg), Arman Andriasyan (70kg), David Gevorgyan (74kg), Arman Avagyan (79kg), Mher Markosyan (86kg) and Hovhannes Maghakyan (120kg).
