Armenia's economic activity index grows by 7.7%
According to the data released by Armenia's National Statistical Service (NSS), the economic activity index (EAI) of Armenia increased by 7.7 % in January-August 2018 to compare with the same period of 2017. According to the NSS, the production volume rose by 4.4%, to compare with January-August 2018 and increased by by 5.4% against the production volume of July of the ongoing year.
The service volume (excluding the trade) rose by 18.9 %, while the consumer prices, according to the NSS statistics, also increased by 2.5% compared to January-August 2017.
Compared to January of the previous year the gross agricultural output increased by 1% in January-August 2018. As for the external trade turnover, it rose by 26.4% in January-August 2018 with the exports increasing by 16.5 5% and imports by 32%.
According to the NSS data, the average monthly salary in Armenia rose by 3.7%.
