Chairman: PAP accepts Yerevan election results, congratulates My Step bloc on its victory
Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) accepts the outcome of the Yerevan City Council elections and congratulates My Step bloc on winning the elections, PAP Chairman Gagik Tsarukyan said in a statement on Monday.
“Strongly rejecting the dangerous approach of dividing the society into blacks and whites, the Prosperous Armenia Party, however, accepts the voting results and congratulates My Step bloc,” he said.
Tsarukyan also expressed gratitude to his team for ‘principled, competent and correct struggle’. “We hope that all the programs promised to the Yerevan residents will be brought to reality,” he added.
My Step bloc, led by popular actor and producer Hayk Marutyan, won a landslide victory in the snap municipal elections held in Yerevan on Sunday, garnering 81,06 percent of the votes. Prosperous Armenia secured 6, 59% votes to come second.
