UN chief admired by youth-led peaceful transfer of power in Armenia
United Nations Secretary General António Guterres has hailed the peaceful transfer of power led by youth in Armenia in April as a ‘fantastic example’ of settling similar issues.
“We just recently had a fantastic example of peaceful transition of government led by youth in Armenia. This is a fantastic example to show that there are reasons to hope, that the new generation will be able to do better than my own generation,” the UN chief said, replying to the questions of Facebook users.
“It is important to stress that the civil society, people and namely young people are able to come together and to show that democracy, freedom and human rights are extremely important for our societies,” he highlighted.
