One killed, another wounded in Yerevan hospital blast
One person was killed and another wounded in a heavy explosion that occurred in Yerevan’s St. Grigor Lusavorich Medical Center on Tuesday afternoon, the Emergencies Ministry told Panorama.am.
The ministry says an operative group of its National Crisis Management Center has been dispatched to the scene.
Earlier, police reported that an employee at the hospital's oxygen department (b. 1978) died after an oxygen cylinder went off in the hospital yard.
Meantime, the Health Ministry says the injured, who is also an employee of the same hospital, suffered minor wounds in the aftermath of the incident and is under in-patient care at the medical center at the moment.
“According to initial data, the exploded oxygen tank does not belong to the hospital. Police are taking necessary measures to clarify the circumstances,” the ministry said.
