Putin unlikely to visit Armenia this year - presidential aide
Russian President Vladimir Putin is unlikely to visit Armenia by the end of this year, Russian Presidential Aide Yury Ushakov said on Wednesday, according to Ria Novosti report. Ushakov added, next year is the most feasible option of the president’s visit.
“The possibility of the visit by our president has been discussed, yet no dates are scheduled,” Ushakov told reporters at a briefing. He added, that the Armenian and Russian leaders will meet in the scope of upcoming CIS and EAEU Summits planned in Dushanbe and Astana respectively.
“Those summits will provide an opportunity to have brief talks,” Ushakov, noted, adding Pashinyan and Putin has met recently which has been the third meeting this year.
“Last time, the private meeting between the Russian president and Armenian Prime Minister lasted for three hours. They had a good and detailed conversation,” Ushakov stressed.
Earlier, Armenian MFA spokesperson Tigran Balayan stated that discussions about Putin’s visit to Armenia are underway.
