Artsakh soldier awarded posthumously
Artsakh Republic President Bako Sahakyan signed a decree on Thursday on posthumously awarding serviceman of the Defense Army Aghasi Mkrtchyan with the "For Service in Battle" medal for bravery shown during the defense of the country’s state border, Sahakyan’s office said.
Mkrtchyan, 19, suffered a fatal gunshot wound in a military post late on Wednesday.
A criminal case has been launched into the details of the incident, Armenia’s Investigative Committee said, adding a preliminary probe is underway.
