Davit Babayan comments on Azerbaijani refusal to withdraw military equipment from Artsakh border
Azerbaijan held large-scale military drills near the border of Artsakh Republic last week. One third of the military equipment is stills deployed near the border area, although the drills, involving 20 thousand servicemen, tanks, artillery, and aviation, completed five days ago. Panorama.am turned to the head of Information Department at Artsakh president’s office Davit Babayan to comment on the risks of Azerbaijani actions and whether there is need to communicate the situation with the OSCE Minsk group.
Babayan ensured the Armenian side closely follows the border situation and if Azerbaijan refuses to remove the equipment from the border area soon, the Armenian side will definitely report the matter to international structures.
“This is a common occurrence for Azerbaijan. They practiced this in April-August of the ongoing year and again this time. However, we are not terrified by these actions of the adversary. Obviously, we take note of all actions and follow the processes. The defense army continues confidently controlling the strategic imitativeness,” Babayan stressed.
