Enhancement of Armenian-American political dialogue highlighted in New York
Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, who is participating in the works of the United Nations General Assembly 73rd session in New York, held meeting with U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Wess Mitchell
As the foreign ministry reported in a press statement, Minister Mnatsakanyan touched upon recent internal political democratic developments in Armenia, the programme priorities of the government, namely in the sphere of human rights and the fight against corruption.
The parties agreed on activating the political dialogue, exchanged thoughts on enhancing mutually beneficial cooperation in the trade and economic, the development agenda of Armenia, especially in innovation, education and scientific sectors. In this regard, the sides underscored the efficiency of the activity of the U.S.-Armenia intergovernmental commission,
Issues of regional and international agenda were a topic of the discussion. The interlocutors also reflected on the Nagorno Karabakh peace process under the auspices of the OSCE Minsk Group, the source said.
