Expert says no need to take actions amid the revealed Facebook security vulnerability
Numerous hackers may send false notifications to Facebook users, recommending to change passwords amid the disclosed security issue in the social media, information security expert Samvel Martirosyan warned in a Facebook post.
“The time is quite dangerous, as numerous hackers may make use of the revealed security issue on the social platform and send messages on behalf of Facebook to take certain actions. There is no need to take any action, even a need to change the password,” Martirosyan wrote.
To remind, Facebook announced on Friday it had discovered a security issue that allowed hackers to access information that could have let them take over around 50 million accounts.
"This is a very serious security issue, and we're taking it very seriously," said CEO Mark Zuckerberg on a call with reporters, adding the company’s engineering team is currently addressing the matter.
