The people, who gathered for a rally in Baku on 29 September, demanded from the Azerbaijani authorities to launch a forceful "liberation of Karabakh”, Caucasian Knot reports.
The rally in the capital of Azerbaijan was held at the stadium of the Yasamal district sports and health complex under the slogans "Start an anti-terrorist operation in Karabakh!" and "Liberate Karabakh!" The public committee named Karabakh organized the rally that was sanctioned by the authorities.
Akif Nagi, the head of the Karabakh Liberation Organization and a member of the Karabakh Committee, stated at the rally that it was held with the aim of "raising public activeness in the issue of Karabakh liberation."
"Our territories have been occupied for 26 years; and a million forced migrants can't return to their native places. It's time for decisive actions," Nagi stated.
The rally ended at about 5p.m. with the announcement of a resolution. It contains a demand addressed to authorities “to start a counter-terror operation aimed at liberating Azerbaijani territories, releasing political prisoners, carrying out democratic reforms, taking real measures to combat corruption, and strengthening the social protection of veterans and families of perished servicemen.”
