Armenian PM to attend Aznavour’s funeral in France
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan will pay a working visit to France on 4-6 October to attend the wake and funeral ceremonies of world-renowned French Armenian singer Charles Aznavour, the PM’s office said.
France will pay a national homage to the legendary singer in a ceremony on Friday, 5 October. French President Emmanuel Macron himself is expected to deliver a speech at a ceremony to be held in the courtyard of Les Invalides, a complex of buildings and monuments related to French military history, the Élysée Palace said earlier.
Aznavour, 94, passed away on 1 October in his home in southeastern France in the wake of an acute oedema caused by cardiorespiratory failure.
