Armenia moves to criminalize terrorist propaganda
The Armenian government approved on Thursday a draft law on criminalizing public calls for terrorism, terrorism funding and international terrorism acts, as well as public approvals or propaganda of terror crimes.
According to the draft law presented by Justice Minister Artak Zeynalyan at today’s Cabinet meeting, possible offenders will face either fines or a jail term from three months up to three years.
The minister cited the high security risks for such calls given today’s technological developmnet, including through mass media as the reason behind adopting such a measure.
The bill will be submitted to the parliament for approval.
