Yerevan arts center to showcase works of famous Iranian artist Shadi Ghadirian
The Cafesjian Center for the Arts (CCA) in Yerevan, Armenia’s capital, and Muscari Association announce the public opening of an exhibition of the works of renowned contemporary Iranian photographer Shadi Ghadirian on October 6, at 10am, in the center’s Eagle Gallery.
The exhibition titled “Shadi Ghadirian: Retrospective” features 53 works by the famous artist. The photographs, in seven series, are showcased for the first time in Armenia, the arts center said in a Facebook post. Shadi Ghadirian has had exhibitions in Iran, France, Canada, Italy, Belgium, India, U.S. and other counties.
“The exhibition’s special focus reveals the artist’s inner world and outlook, through seemingly simple, yet rather profound, visual commentary,” said Vahagn Marabyan, the Acting Executive Director of CCA.
The photo exhibition runs through 23 December. Admission is free.
The Armenian Ministry of Culture has sponsored the exhibition catalog, the center said.
