Armenian MPs vote to declare Francophonie summit days non-working
The Armenian National Assembly passed in the first reading the bill on making supplements to the law on the public holidays and remembrance days at today’s special sitting.
The bill proposing to declare 11 and 12 October as special non-working days over the upcoming Francophonie summit was adopted with 63 votes in favour, with no votes against and only one abstention.
The second reading will take place at 6pm today, Speaker Ara Babloyan said.
The issue was debated and approved at Thursday’s Cabinet meeting.
Yerevan, Armenia’s capital, is hosting the XVII Summit of the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF) on 11-12 October, while the events organized as part of the summit are scheduled for 7-12 October.
