Armenian churches to offer requiem mass for Aznavour
Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II has departed for Paris, France to attend the homage and funeral ceremonies of legendary French-Armenian singer Charles Aznavour on 5 and 6 October.
Armenia's Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin and other primary churches will offer a requiem mass for the repose of the soul of the great singer.
France will pay a national homage to the legendary singer in today’s ceremony. French President Emmanuel Macron himself is expected to deliver a speech at a ceremony to be held in the courtyard of Les Invalides, a complex of buildings and monuments related to French military history, the Élysée Palace said earlier.
His funeral ceremony will be held on Saturday, 6 October.
Aznavour died of natural causes in his home in southeastern France on 1 October at the age of 94.
