Constantine Orbelian to lead concerts for late opera star Hvorostovsky
Armenian conductor Constantine Orbelian, the Artistic Director of the National Academic Theatre of opera and ballet after A. Spendiarian, is set to conduct two concerts in memory of Russian operatic baritone Dmitri Hvorostovsky.
The first event will take place on October 16 in the Novaya Opera Theatre of Moscow. The second concert is scheduled for October 19 and will take place at Oktyabrsky Grand Concert Hall.
The concerts will feature Russian bass opera singer ldar Abdrazakov, baritone Vasily Ladyuk.
Dmitri Hvorostovsky died in London in 2017 at age 55 after more than two years of fighting the cancer.
