Armenian national football team has new head coach
The Executive Committee of the Football Federation of Armenia confirmed on Sunday Armen Gyulbudaghyants as head coach of the national football team.
Gyulbudaghyants, 51, is a former footballer who previously managed the national youth teams, as well as several Armenian league clubs.
The appointment comes ahead of two UEFA Nations League clashes where Armenia will face Gibraltar and Macedonia on October 13 and 16, respectively.
The board also decided to include Suren Chakhalyan, Ashot Avetisyan and Roman Berezovsky in the team’s coaching staff, with Berezovsky set to train the goalkeepers, the Football Federation’s official website says.
Changes have also been made in the management staffs of the U19 and U17 teams, with contracts terminated with all the Argentinian coaches. Arthur Voskanyan has been appointed as acting head coach of the U19 team, while Karen Barseghyan is to temporarily head the U17 team.
