UAE Minister of State impressed with organization of 17th Summit of Francophonie
“The United Arab Emirates (UAE) joined the Organization internationale de la Francophonie (OIF) in 2010 and it is a great pleasure to attend the ongoing Summit,” UAE Minister of State Zaki Nusseibeh told Panorama.am.
“We appreciate highly the hospitality of the Armenian government and the people, their generosity at this summit. We visited Armenia in 2015 during the Francophonie ministerial conference held in Yerevan and are quite impressed by the organization of the summit,” the minister added.
Asked what the key messages of the 17th Summit are the participants would like to convey to the world, the minister said the overall message of the summit is about being together.
“The messages of the Summit are working together, living together and working for the peace, human rights, achieve equal rights between men and women. These are values and principles we are attached to and should follow,” stressed Zaki Nusseibeh.
The minister added that UAE hold an observer status at the organization and expressed hope for becoming an associated member during the ongoing summit.
To note, the International Organization of La Francophonie was created in 1970. Its mission is to embody the active solidarity between its 84 member states and governments (58 members and 26 observers), which together represent over one-third of the United Nations’ member states and account for a population of over 900 million people, including 274 million French speakers
