Arms sales to Azerbaijan ‘unacceptable’, Armenian lawmaker tells Slovak official
The arms supplies of Slovakia’s MSM Martin company to Azerbaijan is ‘worrying and unacceptable’, Deputy Speaker of the Armenian National Assembly Eduard Sharmazanov said at a meeting with Slovenia’s National Council President Andrej Danko.
During the meeting held on Tuesday as part of his working visit to Antalya, Turkey, Sharmazanov stressed Azerbaijan uses the weapons purchased from the Slovakian company against the civilian population of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh).
The officials attacked importance to finding a peaceful settlement to all the conflicts, including the Artsakh conflict, the parliament’s press service told Panorama.am.
Sharmazanov and Danko also discussed issues related to the cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries.
The Armenian official stressed the importance of the soonest ratification of the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA) signed between the European Union and Armenia in November 2017 by the Slovakian parliament.
