Pashinyan, Macron cancel souvenir sheet to honor Aznavour
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and French President Emmanuel Macron held today a ceremonial cancellation of a souvenir sheet on “World Famous Armenians: Charles Aznavour” on the sidelines of the Francophonie summit.
Armenia is hosting the XVII Summit of the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF) on 11 and 12 October.
The event has brought together delegations from 84 countries, including leaders of 38 states.
At the beginning of today’s plenary work of the organization, Armenia is set to hand over the OIF chairmanship to Madagascar. The issue of electing La Francophonie Secretary General is also on the summit agenda.
Several resolutions are set to be adopted in conclusion of the summit on Friday, with one of them reflecting on the Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) conflict settlement.
The general theme of the Francophonie summit is “Living together in solidarity, shared humanistic values, and respect for diversity: a source of peace and prosperity in La Francophonie”, while the logotype of the summit is pomegranate as a symbol of peace and prosperity throughout the francophone area.
