Armenia assumed OIF presidency for the coming two years
Within the framework of the 17th Summit of the International Organization of La Francophonie, Prime minister Pashinyan took part in the meeting of the heads of delegations in narrow format. During the meeting, the OIF presidency was passed to Armenia from Madagascar. PM Pashinyan took the floor and delivered a speech. In Pashinyan’s words, Armenia fully realizes the responsibility of its presidency for the coming two years, thanking all Francophone countries for the trust.
“In a period when our societies face numerous challenges, it is important for us to unite around universal values, ensure respect toward our diversity and encourage exchange and solidarity among different parts of the Francophone territory. These are the prerequisites for the “Living Together” to become a source for peace and prosperity in the Francophone world,” Pashinyan stated.
The delegates also discussed the election of OIF Secretary General as well as the future activities of the organizations, including issues related to raising the efficiency of cooperation and enhancing dialogue among Francophone countries.
To note, 84 country delegations are in Armenia to participate in the 17th Summit, among them 38 heads of states in attendance.
