Kocharyan: 'Taking a post has never been an end in itself for me'
Armenia’s second President Robert Kocharyan has commented on his political comeback in a recent interview with Bloomberg agency, stating taking a high post has never been an end to itself for him.
The ex-president expressed willingness to assist in the active formation of balance in Armenia’s political system by ‘becoming a part of it’ through expression of opinions and active cooperation with other political forces using all the tools for participating in political processes.
“It may be personal participation, cooperation or simply active expression of position in Armenia’s political platform, a stance on issues of public concern and the situation in general. This means there is a rather broad circle here,” he said in the extracts of the interview published by Kocharyan’s non-official website.
“The most important for me is not to stay away from the ongoing developments. Taking a post has never been an end in itself for me. I have assumed many high offices each political figure would dream of. And in this case, it isn’t a new or so-called unseen thing for me that I am striving to achieve,” he stressed.
