Armenian president: Every time I visit Artsakh, I discover it anew
“I wouldn't like to consider my visit to Artsakh as a regular official visit," Armenian President Armen Sarkissian told a news briefing at Artsakh's Shushi Fine Arts Museum on Monday, Artsakhpress reports.
''Every time coming to Artsakh, I discover it anew. In some sense, I come home. This time I visited Artsakh with my wife and took part in Harvest Holiday organized at the Stepanakert Renaissance Square,” the president said.
“Visiting the Shushi Fine Arts Museum, I saw a large collection of paintings collected in a very short period of time. These paintings represent the works of different periods and different artists. I want to say that this museum building is of architectural value, and it is gratifying that concerts of classical music are often held here,” he added.
Sarkissian also touched upon his meeting with Artsakh President Bako Sahakyan, underlining that as every time, this time also a wide range of issues were on its agenda.
"We talked about the domestic political life of Artsakh, the situation at the border, as well as a number of other practical problems. We also reflected on the upcoming activity of the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund. No one can underestimate many years' work of this structure.
“We expect the foundation to continue not only operating well but also to ensure new quality. As the chairman of the foundation’s Board of Trustees, I will do my best to develop a new plan led by the new executive director in a short period of time, thanks to which the fund's work will be brought to a higher level, which will contribute to the recovery of distorted activities of several months,” he concluded.
