Paris mayor: TUMO has inspired whole Europe
TUMO Paris was officially launched in the French capital on Tuesday in attendance of Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo, the founding CEO of the Tumo Center for Creative Technologies, Marie Lou Papazian, and European Commissioner for Research, Science and Innovation Carlos Moedas.
Yerevan Mayor-elect Hayk Marutyan and Armenian Minister of Education Arayik Harutyunyan were also present at the inauguration ceremony, reports Panorama.am.
“Found in Armenia, TUMO now operates in Paris thanks to the support of the European Commission and Carlos Moedas in person. TUMO school is a program that has inspired the whole Europe, as it inspires its students. Thanks to all who have made this possible,” Hidalgo said at the ceremony.
The idea of opening a TUMO center in Paris belongs to the mayor herself, who called the center during her Yerevan visit and was thrilled by such an innovative center in Armenia.
TUMO Paris is expected to have 4,000 students.
There are three TUMO centers in Armenia: in Yerevan, Dilijan and Gyumri, and one in Artsakh’s Stepanakert. More are on the way in Koghb, Masis and other locations in Armenia and abroad.
