Pashinyan offers condolences on Ara Guler’s demise
Acting Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan has extended condolences on the passing of Istanbul-based Armenian photographer Ara Guler.
“I was deeply grieved to learn that Ara Guler, the great Istanbul-born Armenian photographer passed away at the age of 90. For many decades, his perspicacious eye captured and recorded images that raised the world of photographic art to a new level.
I extend my condolences to the great artist’s family, close relatives and thousands of his fans in Armenia, Turkey and throughout the world,” he said in a condolence message.
World-renowned photographer Ara Guler, nicknamed the “Eye of Istanbul”, passed away late Wednesday at the intensive care unit of the Florence Nightingale Hospital in Istanbul after attempts to revive him failed.
