A fountain-monument with the names of Armenian capitals opened in Yerevan
The fountain-monument dedicated the 2800th anniversary of Yerevan foundation has been unveiled today in the park after Vahagn Davtyan in Arabkir administrative district of Yerevan.
As the Yerevan Mayo’s Office reported, the monument created by architect Tigran Barseghyan has the names of the Armenian capitals carved on it and symbolizes the unity between Armenia-Artsakh and Diaspora.
Deputy Mayors of Yerevan Aram Sukiasyan and David Ohanyan, architect Tigran Barseghyan, Razmik Blikyan who sponsored the monument, other officials and guests were present at the ceremony of unveiling.
Deputy Mayor Aram Sukiasyan attached importance to the idea of creation of such cultural monuments and outlined that this one is of particular significance as it is dedicated to the 2800th anniversary of Yerevan foundation. “It is not just a monument but a drinking water fountain as well. There are few cities in the world which have drinking water fountains, and Yerevan outstands with it”, he said.
The opening ceremony was accompanied with a concert program.
