Cheese, yoghurt, sour scream production levels increase in Armenia
According to data provided by the National Statistics Service (NSS), 14, 280.5 tons of cheese were produced in Armenia during January-August 2018 which is 9 % more compared to the previous year. The production levels of yogurt amounted for 15.1 tons, recording 22,2% increase against the previous year data.
For the indicated period the production levels of sour cream and curd cheese increased by 0.5% and 58.9% respectively, amounting to 3,229.5 tones of sour cream and 918.8 tones of curd cheese produced in the period of January-August 2018.
Meanwhile, NSS data indicate 7,8% decrease of milk production levels in Armenia for the mentioned period. According to the source, 360.9 million litres of milk were produced in January-August 2017, while the production levels of the first eight months of the ongoing year put the number at 332.8 million litres.
