PM’s election included in National Assembly agenda for Wednesday
The Armenian National Assembly will discuss the issue of electing new prime minister at its regular session on October, Panorama.am was told at the press department of the parliament. According the source, no special session is scheduled for the PM’s election.
Yelk faction earlier announced a decision to nominate Nikol Pashinyan’s candidacy for the first round of election of prime minister. Pashinyan resigned as PM on October 16 to pave way for dissolution of the parliament and conduct of snap elections.
Under the Armenian law, the National Assembly can be dissolved only if the prime minister resigns and lawmakers twice fail to elect his or her replacement within two weeks.
