Powerful front to bring heavy winds, rains to Armenia
Strong winds and rains are expected in Armenia as powerful front is set to hit the country today, Gagik Surenyan, Director of the Meteorological Centre of the Hydromet Service at Ministry of Emergency Situations, said on Facebook.
Scandinavian cold air masses and Mediterranean warm and humid air masses are set to collide over the territory of Armenia to cause a powerful atmospheric front on Thursday.
Strong winds up to 25-30 m/s are predicted in Lori, Gegharkunik, Kotayk and Syunik regions on Thursday and on Friday night.
Intense rainfalls with thunderstorms are expected in some regions of Armenia on 26 October, the ministry said.
The air temperature is forecast to drop sharply in the next few days to sub zero, -2 degrees Celsius in some regions.
