Yerevan Municipality turns to police after tree logging report by Panorama.am
The office of the head of Kentron Administrative District has appealed to the Yerevan police to reveal the masterminds behind the illegal tree logging in downtown Yerevan and holding them accountable following a report by Panorama.am.
According to the article, the illegal tree cutting has taken place on the crossroads of Yervand Kochar Street and Tigran Mets Avenue.
The Nature Protection Department at the Yerevan Municipality slammed the cutting of young trees as an illegal activity, claiming it has issued no permission for tree logging to anyone.
“In addition, the Nature Protection Department has provided information on the incident to the State Environmental Inspection of Armenia’s Ministry of Nature Protection,” the department told Panorama.am.
