Mikayel Minasyan: We did our best to strengthen Armenia-Vatican relations
Mikayel Minasyan, who is completing his mission as Armenia's first resident ambassador to the Holy See of Vatican, has summed up his tenure in a Facebook post, expressing gratitude to Pope Francis for his special warm relations with Armenia and his colleagues of Armenia and the Holy See.
“It was a great honor and responsibility for me to be the first Resident Ambassador of Armenia to Vatican. During these years we did our best to strengthen relations between Armenia and Vatican in the best interests of Armenia to preserve and spread our culture,” he said.
“I am thankful to Pontifex Maximus of Rome for his special warm attitude towards Armenia and his support to the country. I am thankful to all my colleagues from Armenia and the Holy See for the effective cooperation. See you,” reads the status.
He also shared a short film in Armenian made by the Armenian embassy staff of the Holy See, featuring his achievements of the five-year tenure.
Minasyan, who also served simultaneously as Armenia’s ambassador to Portugal and Malta, was recalled from the post under a decree signed by President Armen Sarkissian on Friday.
