Police chief: Armenia not to host LGBT forum
Armenia will not host an LGBT forum, Chief of Police Valeriy Osipyan told reporters in parliament on Tuesday.
“Taking into account certain risks, such a forum will not be held in Armenia,” he said.
Earlier Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II slammed the forum initiated by the LGBT community, stressing the Armenian people have always clung to the idea of a traditional Christian family.
“We have already voiced our stance on homosexuality, noting it is against our lifestyle and traditions,” he said in a statement.
Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan have also stressed that there is no higher value for him than the traditional family.
