By the decree of November 5 of the President of the Republic of Armenia Armen Sargsyan, Yervand Manaryan was awarded the Honorary title of the People's Artist of the Republic of Armenia for his big contribution to the Armenian culture.

Later on, the details of the meeting were published on the official website of the president.

Today, President Sargsyan visited the famous actor and director and handed him the medal for the People's Artist of the Republic of Armenia. "I have a big, pleasant duty, something that should have been done 30 or 40 years ago. I think, this is the highest appreciation of your long-years’ work by our people. This love has always been there, you've always been a People's Artist," President Sargsyan said.

Expressing gratitude for the high award, Yervand Manaryan said that it is the appraisal of all his life. "This is the appraisal for the life you lived," the President of Armenia said.

President Sargsyan had a warm, intimate conversation with the prominent artist whom he remembers from his childhood and the friendly gatherings he attended with his parents. Armen Sargsyan said that the photos telling about those years are kept in his family albums. "Besides the photos, there are also memories," added President Sargsyan and recalled interesting facts about Yervand Manaryan he remembered since childhood.

The favorite artist and President Sargsyan talked about art, culture and shared their impressions and memories in a warm atmosphere.
