Meghan Markle's personal assistant quits suddenly
Meghan Markle's personal assistant has resigned just six months into the job, it has emerged, according to The Daily Mirror.
The aide, identified only as 'Melissa', is believed to have quit suddenly, shortly after Meghan married into the Royal Family in May, the Daily Mail reports.
PA Melissa is believed to have been tasked with handling the so-called 'Markle debacle' in the build up the the Royal Wedding.
Kensington Palace faced a damage limitation exercise after Meghan's father Thomas provided a running commentary to the media on whether he would be attending the big day.
He eventually pulled out of the ceremony after suffering a heart attack, leaving Prince Charles to walk bride Meghan down the aisle.
Kensington Palace declined to comment on the PA's departure.
However, in what the Mail describes as a highly unusual move, a Palace source was authorised to pay tribute to the former employee.
"Melissa is a hugely talented person," the source is quoted as saying.
"She played a pivotal role in the success of the Royal Wedding and will be missed by everyone in the Royal Household."
