Acting Minister of Agriculture: Provision of affordable agricultural loans will continue
In the field of agriculture, we have low productivity, non-optimal use of human resources, the Acting Minister of Agriculture Gegham Gevorgyan said at the National Assembly today.
"Our main task is to have knowledge-based agriculture and innovation development," he said.
Emphasizing the importance of introducing innovative technologies in the field of agriculture, the acting Minister informed that a joint decision was made with the Ministry of Education to create a veterinary college in 2019, where it will be possible to obtain adequate knowledge and skilfully deal with cattle breeding within two years.
He also informed that an Agricultural Register will be set up to assist any subsidy from the state to have a clearly targeted addressee.
"Provision of affordable agricultural loans will continue," he said.
As for the irrigation problem, the Acting Minister noted that the implementation of programs will continue to help villagers install modern methods of irrigation, eg. drip irrigation, etc.
"It is also foreseen to provide subsidies for acquiring equipments, " he said.
