France 24: Syria's Armenian minority building new life in Yerevan
In the past few years, some 15 to 20,000 Syrians have found refuge in Armenia, the overwhelming majority of them of Armenian origin. Fleeing persecution of ethnic minorities during the war in Syria, the new arrivals have been welcomed with open arms by the Armenian government, which has offered them aid and administrative support, France24 reported.
But the transition has still been tough for some refugees: the language barrier, the difficulty in finding a job, Armenia's poor economic situation, and the trauma of leaving everything behind in Syria have made resettling a challenge. France 24's Achren Verdian and Natalia Ruiz Giraldo travelled to Yerevan to meet some of the refugees.
