Ex-defense minister: I am always ready to stand by Armenian army
Former Defense Minister of Armenia Vigen Sargsyan calls for unity in defense-related issues, regardless of everyone’s different political views.
“We should be united in the country’s defense-related issues. Irrespective of our political differences and party affiliation, we should contribute to the establishment and strengthening of the Armed Forces. Both as a former defense minister and a citizen I am ready to always stand by our army and in its rows,” he said in a Facebook post.
“I am convinced that given all the challenges, the lack of resources, demographic and geographic peculiarities we have one way: we should become a real Nation-Army where every person knows his role in the defense of the country and has all the skills and experience necessary to deal with that issue,” he wrote.
Sargsyan, who tops the Republican Part of Armenia’s list in the upcoming snap parliamentary elections, also stressed that families of disabled servicemen and fallen heroes should always get the public support.
