Ombudsman’s reps. pay a surprise visit to Yerevan military hospital
Representatives of the Human Rights Defender (Ombudsman) paid on Tuesday an undeclared visit to the Central Military Hospital of the Armenian Defense Ministry to familiarize themselves with the situation of ensuring the rights of servicemen.
The surprise visit comes after the Ombudsman’s Office received a number of complaints about the conditions in the medical institution.
During the visit the representatives studied the medical services provided to soldiers and their medical documents. They also held private talks with the hospital inmates, the office said in a press release.
The Ombudsman’s representatives also met with the hospital leadership.
“After summing up the results of the meeting, respective notes will be addressed to the Defense Ministry,” the office concludes.
