Pashinyan: We have fulfilled all obligations toward people
The new Armenian government has fulfilled all the commitments undertaken before people without any exceptions as of October 2018, Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan told a news conference on Tuesday.
“First, we have promised that if the Armenian people express their will, we will ensure the removal of Serzh Sargsyan’s and his team’s power in an exclusively peaceful way. Today that promise is fulfilled,” he said.
Pashinyan, who attended the news conference wearing a tie in the Armenian flag colors, stressed his team has met the commitment to ensure democratic and transparent elections, as testified by the Yerevan municipal elections in September and the local self-government elections in October.
“We have promised to fight against corruption and we are doing it,” he said, adding the corruption combat will be continuous if they receive a vote of confidence from people.
According to the acting PM, they have eradicated the economic monopoly and all the restrictions in the market, with no ‘privileged’ individuals left in Armenia.
“We have promised to hold elections to the National Assembly and we kept that promise. We have fully returned power to the people. Each Armenian citizen will decide the country’s future with his/her own vote,” he stressed.
